The previous night, my mind set was to sleep at a decent hour. Although I know that almost never happens, I was asleep by 1 am. I woke up a few times before 5 am. Hit. The goal was to get to Orlando by 7 am, but as the morning passed, plans were tweaked. The drive is a minimal 3 hours. The kids only know of us going this far for supplies for a job to be to be done. Not knowing the surprise in store for them; the theme park. As we pass trees, cars, grass, the kids remained unbothered. They do not know, because we knew the consequences of telling them early. There would be constant "Are we there yet?" My kids that have the extra ADHD ability would be the hardest to contain.
It is a holiday, so school is out. The roads do not have the normal dreaded Monday morning blues. Cars were on the road, and traffic was bearable. We left out later, even so, we are making good timing. I feel proud and well prepared. The kids have most of the amenities that they would have if they were stuck in the house. The only thing we didn't provide was internet, but I know someone is leeching my internet. The movie is playing, the boys play their Nintendo Switches. The older one is responsible for holding the little game cards.
When that dies, the boys can fall back on their IPads. The girls watching the movie as they browse social media on their cell phones. The GPS in the Ken's ears, he may even be listening to a motivational podcast or music in between directions. It is a smooth ride.
I have had to eliminate my bladder for about 100 miles so far, but I am holding it as long as I can. I just need to have a drop of water for my bladder to have to flow like the Nile, so I try to dehydrate myself... Never works. I am 30 something years old and when it comes to long distance trips, I am the kids that needs to pee in the bottle in the back seat because we just left the rest stop (even then I used it). I like to stay hydrated, it keeps my head from hurting.
To be continued...
